Water analysis is the first and most important part of establishing what water treatment equipment is needed. It is also essential to monitor the quality and continued correct operation.

Monitoring water quality and checking is an environmental health requirement for private water supplies, private water distribution systems and swimming pool water. It is the responsibility of the owner not to cause harm; planned maintenance and monitoring will reduce risks of breakdown, failures, harm and stress.

Measuring and monitoring your water quality

Chemical Analysis

With parameters such as pH, conductivity, hardness, iron, manganese, copper, ammonia, etc.

From calcium hardness, conductivity, pH, and alkalinity we can calculate the Langelier corrosive index of water that will tell you how corrosive or not your water is.

There are two main types of examination for checking the quality of water:

Microbiological Analysis

With examinations for micro-organisms such as E. coli, Coliforms, Enterococci, Legionella, Total Viable Counts, etc.

Analysis is carried out by a UKAS accredited laboratory

Taking the sample is quite a specialist task because samples can be contaminated by something coming into contact with the sample or something being dissolved from the sample container even if it looks clean

Our engineers are trained and qualified to take water samples and we stock prepared sample bottles and containers.

There are many things that can contaminate water to make it non-compliant to the wholesome drinking water quality standards. Usually full analysis is not necessary or practical. There are various indicator suites of parameters that make the list much reduced and thus the analysis costs are less. We can advise you, just call us on 01271 850 588.
